Midwest Ag Law Introduction Podcast

Hi there! I’m Kole Pederson, and I’m glad you’re here. If you’re a farmer, rancher, or part of an agricultural business, you know that our way of life is more than just a job — it’s a commitment, a family legacy, and, often, a way of life passed down through generations. Few other industries share the same values or understand the dedication it takes. That’s exactly why I started Midwest Ag Law: to provide legal services rooted in real-life ag experience, designed to meet the unique needs of families like ours.

Growing up on a large crop farm, I learned early what it means to work the land, make careful decisions, and build something lasting. Like many of you, I started working at a young age—finishing school by noon, grabbing a quick bite, and heading out to the fields. This is the life I know, and it’s the one I still cherish. My years working as a farmer, an agronomist, a spray pilot, and teaching precision ag classes have only deepened my respect and understanding of this industry. I want to help you operate within this industry as effectively as possible.

Why Midwest Ag Law?

  1. Real Agricultural Experience

I’ve been in your shoes, facing many of the same challenges and hard decisions that come with running a farm or agri-business. I know how important it is to have someone in your corner who truly understands this industry. At Midwest Ag Law, we’re committed to delivering legal support from an insider’s perspective—knowing agriculture isn’t a 9-to-5 job but a 24/7 commitment.

  2. Estate Planning for Farm Families

Passing down a farm or ranch isn’t just a matter of paperwork; it’s ensuring the hard work and legacy live on for the next generation. I’m passionate about estate planning for farm families because I know how crucial it is to protect that legacy and plan for a smooth transition. Every plan we create is tailored to help families like yours secure their land, legacy, and future.

  3. Practical Legal Solutions for Ag Businesses

The agricultural industry has its fair share of legal and regulatory hurdles. From contracts to compliance, we know the stakes are high, and there’s no room for “cookie-cutter” solutions. At Midwest Ag Law, we provide practical, straightforward legal guidance to help you navigate these complexities so you can focus on what you do best.

  4. Zero Hourly Billing

Midwest Ag Law doesn’t use the billable hour typically seen in the legal industry. I believe in transparency and simplicity, so instead, we offer flat fees and alternative billing methods for all our services. This approach lets you know exactly what each service will cost without worrying about watching the clock or unexpected charges.

  5. Convenient Remote Services

At Midwest Ag Law, we understand that traveling to a lawyer’s office isn’t always convenient. That’s why we’re committed to meeting you where you are—whether over a video call, a phone conversation, or even at your farm or business. We’re a modern, remote-first law firm built to provide flexible, on-the-ground support where and when it works best for you.

Our Approach: Relationships First

At Midwest Ag Law, relationships matter. We value the people we work with, and every decision we make centers around trust, integrity, and a commitment to service. This means taking the time to understand your goals, challenges, and what makes your operation unique. We build lasting relationships that make a real difference by putting people first.
